AGCO unveils AGCO ST compact tractor line; six four-wheel drive models span. 22.9 to 44.2 hp

AGCO Corp. has made a name for itself in the ag industry by manufacturing and distributing farm equipment from 17 to 425 hp under such brand names as AGGO Allis, White, Massey Ferguson, Eendt and AGCOSTAR. Now, for the first time in the company's more than 100-year history, AGCO has decided to brand a product simply AGCO, as in the AGCO ST compact tractor series.

The AGCO ST series is made up of six, four-wheel drive tractors ranging from 22.9 to 44.2 hp and is designed to meet the needs of the turf-care industry while still satisfying the demands of agricultural applications. "The AGCO ST series tractors fit in near the lower end of our product range," said Phil Jones, general marketing manager at the Duluth, Ga.-based manufacturer." While the larger tractors are primarily used for agriculture, the AGCO ST tractors are sold to a much broader market including grounds maintenance and landscaping, materials handling, light industrial, and, of course, agriculture.

"Industry data reveals that under 40 hp tractors now make up 53 percent of the North American tractor market," added Jones. "The 20 to 30 hp tractors represent nearly a third of all tractors sold. This market grew by 13 percent last year and by 73 percent over the past five years.
