Tractor Supply diversifies with acquisition. plans to acquire Del's Farm Supply

BRENTWOOD, TENN. -- Tractor Supply Co. has announced plans to buy 17-store Del's Farm Supply of Lakewood, Wash., a privately operated chain that sells feed, supplies and accessories related to the care of horses, farm animals and pets. The move places the company into the more specialized equine and pet supply category that will complement its core business. Del's operates 13 stores in Washington, three in Hawaii and one in British Columbia, all new markets for Tractor Supply. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter.
